Our Welfare Advice Service is here to help food bank users get assistance and support with it in order to reduce the risk of becoming destitute and take little steps towards securing a future without needing to relying on charitable support.
How We Can Help
Our Welfare Advice service’s goal is to :
- Maximise income – helping food bank users apply for benefits they are entitled to and carry out case work to challenge unfair benefit decisions through Mandatory Reconsiderations and appeals
- Connect to wider support – Sign post clients appropriately to access other services for them to access advice and support with housing, debt, budgetting , addiction, mental health support, consumer, domestic violence, immigration, health, education and charitable services.
We take a person-centred approach, This ensures help is practical, respectful, and tailored to individual’s situation.
